My approach to counseling is a lot like my approach to the dandelions in my garden ... let’s not just keep snipping off the yellow flower through symptom management,
but get at the roots so there’s real change.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself…

I received my undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Seattle Pacific University, and went on to receive my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from George Fox University. I have worked in inpatient facilities, as a school counselor, and now since 1997 in private practice primarily with adolescent girls and women. I am licensed in the state of Washington, practicing in the Seattle area for 15 years, then making the move to Walla Walla in 2012 when my family relocated to the sunny side of the state.

My therapeutic style is both relaxed and conversational, and I believe you will find me to be both compassionate and a “straight shooter." I am very holistic in my understanding and work with clients. We do not develop in compartments, but in the context of our relational, psychological, physiological, and spiritual influences. It is important, therefore, to look at the entire tapestry of each life to get at the core of an issue to find true healing.

I draw from a number of different therapeutic approaches, and have had significant training and certifications in the treatment of eating disorders, trauma therapy, and the full spectrum of anxiety disorders .

In addition to my time as a clinician, I enjoy my role as wife to my high school sweetheart who now pastors a local church, and being a mom to three young adult “children.” As I was raised between eastern Oregon and Alaska, I am a lover of the outdoors, staying active, and adventures of all kinds. Our home often has short or long term guests, a table full of good food and drink, and opportunity to putter or just relax in the garden.

We all have a story, and I am happy to share more with you about who I am and how I got to where I am today. It’s really about you though, and I can’t wait to hear your story and how I might come alongside you in this shared journey.
